Karachi is one of the centres of Pakistan's textile industry. Mills and factories in and around the city produce cotton fabric, bedding, towels and home textiles for local markets and for export. That means Karachi shoppers have access to a huge range of bedsheets, duvet covers, quilts, pillow covers, towels and curtains, often at very good prices. Shops in markets across the city sell factory surplus, export quality pieces and local brands side by side.
For small sellers and wholesalers, selling home textiles online is a big opportunity. Bedding is bought regularly, given as a wedding gift and refreshed for Eid. But home textiles come with one big challenge online: sizes. This post explains how to sell bedding and home textiles clearly and confidently.
Sizes cause the most confusion
Bed sizes in Pakistan are not always the same as international sizes, and customers are often unsure what they need. A bedsheet that is too small for a mattress is a common reason for complaints.
Give clear measurements for every product:
| Product | Size to list |
|---|---|
| Single bedsheet | Length and width in inches or cm |
| Double or king bedsheet | Length and width, plus pillow cover size |
| Fitted sheet | Mattress size and depth it fits |
| Duvet cover | Length and width |
| Towels | Length and width, weight if known |
| Curtains | Width and drop (length) per panel |
Add a short tip: "Measure your mattress before ordering. For fitted sheets, also measure the mattress depth."
In Krobr, size can be a variant on each product, with its own price and stock. The variants and stock guide explains how. Our post on sizes, colours and stock covers the basics.
Describe fabric honestly
Fabric quality is a key reason people buy, and a key reason they complain. Describe it accurately.
- Material, such as 100 percent cotton, cotton blend, polyester or sateen.
- Thread count, only if you know it accurately.
- Weave or finish, such as percale, sateen or printed.
- Feel, such as soft, crisp or heavy.
- Care instructions, such as washing temperature.
Avoid inflated claims. Customers have become wary of very high thread count claims on low priced bedding. If you are not sure, describe the feel and material instead of quoting a number.
Export surplus and seconds
Karachi has a strong market for export surplus and factory seconds, which can offer excellent value. If you sell these, be clear about what they are.
- Export surplus is usually extra stock from an export order, often in perfect condition.
- Seconds may have small flaws, such as a minor print fault or uneven stitching.
Explain this clearly. Customers are happy to buy seconds at a good price if they know what they are getting, but they will be upset if a flaw comes as a surprise.
Photos that show colour, pattern and texture
Bedding is a visual purchase. Customers want to imagine it on their own bed.
- Photograph the bedsheet on a made bed, in daylight.
- Add a close up of the fabric texture and print.
- Show the pillow covers and any matching pieces.
- For towels, show the thickness and texture.
Keep colours true. Our post on product photos with your phone has useful tips.
Organise collections
Help customers find what they need quickly.
- Bedsheets
- Duvet covers and quilts
- Towels
- Curtains
- Kids' bedding
- Wedding and gift sets
The products and collections guide explains how.
Bundles and sets
Home textiles are often bought in sets. Bundles make shopping easy and raise your order value.
- A bedsheet with two pillow covers.
- A towel set with bath, hand and face towels.
- A complete bedroom set with a bedsheet, duvet cover and cushion covers.
Wedding bedding sets are especially popular in Karachi, where families often buy complete sets for the bride. Offer them in attractive packaging.
Promotions that make sense
Home textiles respond well to seasonal promotions.
- Eid offers, when families refresh their homes.
- Winter offers on quilts and heavier bedding.
- A discount for buying two or more bedsheets, using a tiered quantity promotion.
Our post on promotions that protect profit explains how to set these up safely.
Stock tracking
Home textile stock can be complex, with many sizes, colours and designs. Krobr tracks stock for each variant and warns you when stock runs low. The Stock app on your phone makes updates quick when a new shipment arrives from the mill or wholesaler. When a design sells out, it becomes unavailable automatically.
Packaging and delivery
Fold bedding neatly and pack it in a clear plastic bag, then in a mailer bag or box. Sets look better in a box with a simple label. Bedding is light enough to deliver across Karachi and, through couriers, to other cities. Set your delivery areas and charges in Krobr. The delivery coverage guide explains how.
Offer cash on delivery for individual orders and bank transfer for larger or wholesale orders. Our post on cash on delivery and bank transfer compares both.
Selling wholesale and to businesses
Karachi home textile sellers often supply hotels, guest houses, hostels and other shops. These customers buy in bulk and repeat regularly.
- Offer bulk quantities with tiered pricing.
- Accept bank transfer for business orders. The bank payment guide explains how.
- Keep consistent stock of popular plain designs, such as white bedsheets and towels.
In short
Karachi's textile strength gives home textile sellers a real advantage online. Give clear measurements for every product, describe fabric honestly, explain export surplus and seconds, photograph bedding on a bed and organise clear collections. Sell sets and bundles, run seasonal promotions, track stock by size and colour and serve businesses in bulk. To set up your store, read our guide on selling online in Pakistan without a developer.
